HP themselves say a Okipage 4w printer is just not supported in any of the JD series and maybe even 4a couldn’t get them to work properly.
I have the Op4whyxe.
Works well enough for the moment. Could I install it in XP Mode?
BUT, I cannot get the 4w to be recognized yet it appears okipage 4w the Printer Selection okipage 4w when hitting Print in an Office application, says its working and has the right driver, but nothing happens. Add Printer calls up the box to select the printer driver to install, but 4w okipwge not listed for Win7.
I’m now trying various config settings on the JD, just to see if the comms problem can be the root of okipage 4w, but I suspect okipage 4w something more fundamental.
The JDx won’t talk to the printer directly it won’t print out a configuration page in any of the four choices of printer language availableand that’s probably an indicator of the remaining problem Installer reports an error Printer driver was not installed.
My still working 4w from now needs a facelift. I’ve okpiage the driver from the link above with Windows 7 64 bit and Targus port replicator. I tried the above driver in W7 64 and had exactly the same problem. In the meantime the Oki is hooked up to okipage 4w old networked 4s which is only fired up to act as a printer mule.
Any way of giving it the Task of okipage 4w the printer?
Anyway, last ditch attempt – I picked up an old JetDirect X print server okiage cheap, used the XP64 Server drivers the latest ones that Oki could be bothered writing, dating fromthey can be found on Oki Australia’s site.
No okipage 4w so far. Operation could not be completed error: There is an apparently insurmountable block in okipage 4w OS, that is determined to not allow this printer to okipage 4w in this hardware. The thing won’t print more than half a page – but it’s half a page more than it was doing before, so I’m a half-step forward.
